Step 1: Failed Sealer Removal (Stripping if Necessary)
The initial step involves addressing any traces of failed, white sealer on the surface. Our stripping process is meticulous, involving the application of a stripping agent. Depending on the extent of the issue, it might take a few minutes to several days to remove the failed sealer. While we take precautions, it’s essential to acknowledge that stripping can be complex, messy, and potentially damaging. Our goal is to safeguard your pavers while effectively addressing the failed sealer.
Step 2: Paver Repairs (If Necessary)
Paver repairs are essential for restoring pavers to their original position due to various factors like settling, sand washout, root intrusion, or installation errors. Our paver repair process is in-depth, aiming to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. We offer a 1-year workmanship warranty and a satisfaction guarantee for our paver repairs. It’s worth noting that paver repairs can be intricate and time-consuming, and they might involve paver damage during restoration. To mitigate potential issues, we recommend having spare pavers on hand, and if not, understanding the associated risks.
Step 3: Pre-Treatment
The process commences with pre-treatment, where a potent disinfectant is applied. This breaks down bacteria, loosens mold, and prepares the pavers for effective cleaning.
Step 4: Turbo Tip + Surface Clean + Rinse
After pre-treatment, we use a turbo tip to meticulously clean the paver joints, eliminating loose weeds and debris. A comprehensive surface cleaning and thorough rinse follow, ensuring a uniformly clean surface.
Step 5: Efflorescence Cleaning
We emphasize efflorescence cleaning for both new and old pavers. This step not only lowers the pH of the pavers but also eradicates salt and calcium buildup, whether visible or not. It’s important to acknowledge that efflorescence is a natural phenomenon, and while we strive to remove it, complete eradication might not always be achievable.
Step 6: Organic Stain Cleaning
For stubborn organic stains, mere disinfecting and pressure cleaning aren’t sufficient. Our organic stain cleaner is employed to effectively remove these unsightly marks, leaving your pavers looking refreshed.
Step 7: Oil + Grease Cleaning (If Necessary)
Visible oil or grease spills require specific attention. We focus on extracting as much of the stain as possible before moving forward, although complete stain removal might not be guaranteed.
Step 8: Neutralize Pavers
Once the pavers are thoroughly cleaned, neutralization is crucial. This step ensures that all remnants of cleaners, mold, debris, and stains are completely lifted from the pavers, providing an immaculate canvas for the sealer application.
Step 9: Turbo Tip + Surface Clean + Rinse
We reiterate the turbo tip process to ensure all paver joints are thoroughly cleaned. A comprehensive surface cleaning is followed by a final rinse, ensuring that no remnants of debris remain.
Step 10: Re-Sand Pavers
With clean pavers, we proceed to re-sand the joints using the wet sanding technique. This approach guarantees that all voids are filled to the proper level, ensuring stability and an aesthetically pleasing finish.
Step 11: Overnight Drying (If Necessary)
Cleaned and sanded pavers require overnight drying to ensure the optimal performance of the sealer.
Step 12: Final Sweep
Before sealing, we meticulously sweep away excess sand and debris, leaving the surface pristine and ready for the final step.
Step 13: Sealing
The sealer application is a pivotal step in our process. Depending on the surface and sealer type, we tailor the application to ensure maximum protection and visual enhancement.
Step 14: Secure Job Site
With the sealer applied, securing the job site becomes essential. We recommend specific timeframes before walking, resetting furniture and equipment, and driving on the sealed area to ensure proper sealer curing.
Step 15: 12-Month Cleaning Routine
To maintain the longevity of your newly sealed pavers, we advocate for a 12-month cleaning routine. This proactive approach prevents premature sealer breakdown. We even offer complimentary cleanings based on referrals and reviews.
Step 16: Re-Seal 2 to 3 Years Later
Lastly, depending on the surface and sealer type, re-sealing is recommended after 2 to 3 years. During our visit, we’ll provide guidance on the ideal re-sealing schedule.
The Vargas Paver Process embodies our commitment to excellence, ensuring that each step is executed with precision, care, and dedication. Contact us to experience the transformative power of this unparalleled process on your pavers.
